Scottish Resources

Our Scottish Resources for Early Years Teaching are designed to support practitioners, leaders, and settings across Scotland in delivering high quality learning experiences in line with the Curriculum for Excellence. These resources provide practical tools and guidance to support children’s development from early level through to the start of primary.

This collection includes a wide range of materials to support effective practice, including observations, assessments, planning documents, policies, and trackers. Each resource is created to align with Scottish frameworks, helping staff confidently monitor progress, plan next steps, and support every child’s learning journey.

Our observations and assessment tools help practitioners capture children’s achievements and identify development across key areas. Clear and structured trackers support ongoing monitoring, while flexible planning resources ensure learning is engaging, child-centred, and responsive to individual needs.

We also provide supportive information for parents, helping to build strong partnerships between home and setting. These resources make it easier to share children’s progress and encourage involvement in learning beyond the classroom.

Suitable for a range of settings including nurseries and early primary (P1–P3), our Scottish resources support both children and staff by promoting consistency, confidence, and high-quality teaching and learning.
