Zero to Ten 10 Frames supports early number development by explicitly teaching the concept of zero. Children are encouraged to recognise zero as an empty set before progressing to numbers 1–10. Ten frames provide a clear visual representation of quantity, helping learners build strong foundations for counting and early calculation.

How to use:

  • Model zero using an empty ten frame

  • Use questioning: How many? What do you notice?

  • Reinforce that zero is represented by no counters
