Reception Mathematics Long Term Plan

Early Years Resources | Early Years Staffroom - Resource and Planning Website

This maths long-term planning in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a structured, strategic approach to teaching and learning maths for children aged 4-5 years. Long-term planning involves outlining the key mathematical concepts, skills, and experiences that children will be introduced to and develops a comprehensive framework for delivering them over an extended period, typically an academic year.

This plan includes the Reception expectations for reference and to see clearly where children are going.

Each aspect of maths is progressed through each half term and this includes, Intent and Implementation, as well as a progression of vocabulary covered.

The primary aim of mathematics long-term planning in the EYFS is to ensure that children receive a well-rounded and balanced mathematical education, laying the foundation for future success in mathematics and other areas of learning.
