Computing Progression Document for Early Years – Building Strong Digital Foundations Through Playful Learning
EYFS Progression of Skills document that focuses on Computing. It looks at where computing can be found within the ‘Development Matters’ document for Birth – 3, 3-4 and Reception ages, following the removal of ‘Computing’ from the ELG’s in the 2021 EYFS Curriculum. The document breaks down computing teaching into 7 areas that include; Algorithms and Programming, Information Technology, Digital Literacy, Technology in the world, Digital creativity, Online awareness and e-safety and Vocabulary.

Our Computing Progression Document for Early Years is a clear and practical guide designed to help early years practitioners introduce young children to the world of technology in an age-appropriate and engaging way. Mapped to the EYFS framework, this document outlines a logical and developmentally sensitive sequence of computing knowledge and skills from Nursery to Reception.
